Tenerife is advancing plans for a southern railway line spanning 79.7 kilometers, designed to connect Santa Cruz to Costa Adeje through seven municipalities. The proposed route includes seven stations: Santa MarĂa del Mar-Añaza-Acorán, Candelaria, San Isidro, Tenerife South Airport, Los Cristianos, and Costa Adeje. Trains are projected to reach speeds up to 220 km/h, completing the journey in approximately 39 minutes with departures every 15 minutes. The project encompasses significant infrastructure, such as tunnels totaling over 17 kilometers and viaducts extending more than 9 kilometers. The initial construction phase, focusing on the segment between San Isidro and Costa Adeje, is estimated to cost €800 million, with completion targeted by 2031. This development aims to enhance transportation efficiency and connectivity across the island.
